The Dancing Man of Zvidze

Drilled dot ornament in bone. Found in Zvidze, Latvia, dated around 6000 BC.

This ancient man is part of the landscape, it might even be difficult to find him unless he permits you to. Look for his swaying arms, stretched to the left and right, his right leg bent mid-dance while the left leg stands firmly on the ground. His head – so insignificant and small – looks up to the stary sky for guidance. Look for all this and the ancient man will reveal himself to you.
