The Amber Man of Juodkrantè

Amber figurine, found in Juodkrantė, Lithuania, dated around 3000 BC.

This small amber guardian waited for thousands of years in darkness to finally be unearthed and to see the sun again. Made from a divine material, the sun stone, he looks supreme among the grey ancestral idols of bone, stone and clay. He probably served an important cause and never left his master – the drilled holes serving for a string that enabled carrying him around.
