The old mountain troll was terrible to look at. Heavy bags of tears hung under his dull eyes and his straggly hair grew like brushwood over his heavy shoulders and his enormous back. At his belt, next to his cooking utensils, he carried an enormous knife so sharp that it flashed in the sunlight. Around his arm stretched a golden hoop, a rank insignia as it was worn by the wild people.
